Soundwalk Series: Boot Head Preserve

The Island Soundscape Project, in partnership with the Maine Coast Heritage Trust and the Downeast Coastal Conservancy, is hosting a series of guided walks focused on helping visitors to connect with place through listening. The primary guide is Dr. Karen Beeftink, Associate Professor of Outdoor Recreation and Tourism at the University of Maine at Machias.
The second soundwalk in the series will take place at Boot Head Preserve. This property offers two contrasting sites for listening: an inland bog area, and an ocean overlook known for a unique soundmark heard during certain parts of the tide cycle.
All walks are all free and open to the public. Participants are welcome to join a single walk or all three in the series.
Happening Sunday October 19th, starting at the Boot Head Preserve trailhead at 10:30am.
