Alan Brooks Salt Pond

Located directly along the South Lubec Road, the Alan Brooks Salt Ponds provides a scenic view of Lubec Channel as well as two intriguing tidal salt ponds.

This property is named in honor of Alan Brooks— the original director of Quoddy Regional Land Trust (later incorporated as DCC). Approximately half of the 4.4 acre property is composed of Spartina saltmarsh which is a rare natural community type in Maine. This preserve was acquired with the support of the Land for Maine’s Future program in 2008.

Directions: Take US Route 1 and turn right on State Route 189 East. Follow Route 189 east approximately 10 miles to South Lubec Road. Turn right onto South Lubec Road and in 0.6 mile, the destination will be on the left.
