Description:

Klondike Mountain with its stunning views of the Cobscook Bay
coastline is a must for Lubec visitors and residents alike. The trail, marked with blue blazes, cuts through an old cattle pasture with fruit-bearing apple trees.Two trails begin at the far tree-line beyond the meadow, 0.25 mile from the parking area. The Fowler’s Mill Pond trail, less than 0.5 mile, travels along the shoreline. The Klondike Mountain Trail leads to not one but two summits where magnificent views are achieved. This loop trail is 0.75 mile round trip.

Trailhead Directions:

Take Route 1 to Route 189 to Lubec. After 9 miles, turn left on the North Lubec Road at McFadden’s Variety. Go 1 mile to the Klondike Mountain Preserve sign and parking area on the left.
