Wildflower Walk at Denbow Point

July 13 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

On Saturday, July 13th at 10:00 AM at DCC’s Denbow Point in Lubec, join Maine Master Naturalists Kris and Allison Paprocki for a wildflower walk! Participants will learn some basic botanical terminology and plant identification skills. Allison and Kris will teach hikers how to identify key features in plants and how to identify flowers in a few common families: peas, roses, asters, mints, mustards, and grasses. Even if you don’t know the exact species, identifying these plant families is relatively easy, and you’ll be able to recognize them almost anywhere in the world! Participants will also see a variety of coastal wildflowers associated with Maine’s beaches including beach pea, Scotch lovage, seaside goldenrod, and more.
