Identifying the different species of gulls seen along Maine’s coast can seem daunting. Strengthening your gull-ability is easier than you think. We’ll start this workshop by exploring the Eastport waterfront and learning key field marks for the gulls and other seabirds that we find. Up to ten species of gulls can be seen in the Cobscook Bay area during November and December. We’ll then walk to Horn Run Brewing for food and drinks and delve deeper into gull I.D. with a slide show of helpful tips and practice photos.

This event will be guided by DCC Board Member and Eastport’s own Chris Bartlett. The walk will begin at 3pm – meet at the Eastport breakwater (in front of the Port Authority building), and the presentation at Horn Run will begin around 4:30pm.  Participants should bring binoculars and dress for the weather.
