Downeast Coastal Conservancy (DCC) has announced the departure of its Executive Director, Jon Southern, on March 14th. Jon has led the nonprofit organization over the past four years and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
During the coming months, DCC staff and Board of Directors are well positioned to continue our conservation efforts. Cathy Lookabaugh, DCC’s Membership and Outreach Director, will support the organization as Acting Executive Director during this time of transition.
“We’re grateful to Cathy for her willingness to step up and serve DCC in an expanded capacity,” noted Anne Baker, President of the Board of Directors. “An active search will soon be underway to fill the vacancy created by Jon’s departure. Until that position is filled, Cathy’s talents and experience make her qualified to meet our current needs, and she has the full support of the Board of Directors during this transitional phase.”
Leadership transitions, while difficult, are also a time of tremendous opportunity. The Executive Director search process is already beginning; interested candidates should please stay tuned for the position posting.
