An enthusiastic group of runners, walkers and volunteers gathered in early October for the 6th Bad Little Trail Run jointly sponsored by Bold Coast Runners and Downeast Coastal Conservancy at the Machias River Preserve.

DCC has been selected as a host site part of the Maine Conservation Corps AmeriCorps Environmental Steward Program. We will host one 900 Hour Environmental Steward from June – November 2023.

We are pleased to announce that this year DCC is applying for its first renewal of accreditation. A public comment period is now open.

We are thrilled and honored to announce that Writing the Land, a collaboration between poets and protected lands, has featured our organization in their next edition Writing the Land: Maine.

Last week the DCC Stewardship Team, MITA, and several volunteers came together for a morning’s adventure to collect ocean-borne trash from DCC’s South Addison Islands.

On a gray day of impending drizzle, a small group of stalwart volunteers and Downeast Coastal Conservancy stewards gathered to work on the Money Island trail at the western edge of the Machias River Preserve.

We have teamed up with Washington County 4-H to host a Nature in Focus Spin Club. Join us to explore the outdoors through photography, environmental education, outdoor recreation, and creative expression!

Downeast Coastal Conservancy is pleased to announce the appointment of its new Executive Director, Colin Brown. He will begin his new position on July 18th, 2022.
