On a gorgeous early fall Sunday morning, 55 runners and walkers took part in the 4th Annual Bad Little Trail Run hosted by Downeast Coastal Conservancy and Bold Coast Runners.

Situated between Dennys Bay and Cobscook Bay, the 191-acre Reversing Falls Preserve provides spectacular views of the largest set of tidal falls on the Maine coast.

This year, DCC Member and local artist, Robert Miller is donating two of his paintings to support our annual appeal efforts.

The new Shore Trail of the Pigeon Hill Preserve allows you to now take the Blue trails and hike from the Sea to the Summit or the Summit to the Sea!

A huge thank you is in order for all the volunteers who made the cleanup possible, MCHT and MITA staff and volunteers for providing boats and helping to organize the effort, and DEI for letting us drop a dumpster and shuttle trash to their facility.

Machias River Preserve is the largest property that DCC has protected to date, with a total of 917 acres. This property has a network of 5.5 miles of trail that visitors can explore and provides access to the Down East Sunrise Trail.

The 48-acre Mowry Beach Preserve provides convenient public access to one of the easternmost sandy beaches in the country and is an excellent spot for birders.

Summer is finally here and now is the perfect time to get outside and enjoy the outdoors with the whole family.
