Winter Solstice Walk

December 21, 2023 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Join DCC’s Executive Director Colin Brown for a winter solstice walk at Reversing Falls Preserve in Pembroke. Situated between Dennys Bay and Cobscook Bay, the 191-acre Reversing Falls Preserve provides spectacular views of the largest set of tidal falls on the Maine coast. Reversing Falls is the perfect place to celebrate the solstice, connect with nature, and experience the start of winter with a guided walk.

Hikers should be prepared to hike over some uneven terrain on the trail and in low light conditions, bring your own hiking stick and/or flashlight if desired. Trail conditions could be icy or snowy depending on the weather. Please dress warm!

Directions: Take Route 1 to Pembroke. Turn east onto the extension of Route 214, immediately beside the Irving gas station. Turn right at the stop sign, then take an immediate left up a small hill onto the Leighton Point Road. Continue 3.3 miles, then turn right onto Clarkside Road and continue for 1.2 miles. At the end of Clarkside Road, turn left onto a dirt road and continue for 1.5 miles to the parking area.

Outdoor programs are subject to cancellation due to inclement weather, updates will be posted here and on social media. Questions? Email info@downeastcoastalconservancy.org.
