Downeast Coastal Conservancy(DCC) invites the community to attend their Annual Winter Fun Day at Middle River Park in Machias, collaborating this year with the Machias Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, East Coast Greenway Alliance, and Down East Sunrise Trail. Middle River Park is located behind the Chamber of Commerce Rail Road Station Office.

This free event will be held from 10AM – 2PM on Saturday, February 16th. Participants can enjoy a variety of winter activities at the park, including sledding down the beautiful hill overlooking the Middle River, snowshoeing the 2.5-mile trail network, or gliding through the new cross-country ski trail. The corresponding gear for all these activities will be available in a limited way for use and DCC staff and volunteers will be on hand to help get beginners started. If you have your own gear please bring it.
Attendees can stay warm during the event by cozying up to the bonfire for complimentary hot dogs and toasted marshmallows, and the Machias bay Area Chamber of Commerce will also have other refreshments available as well.
In the event of no snow, DCC welcomes the community to still come enjoy a hike around the park and treats by the fire.
