On Saturday, May 10th, join Master Naturalist Grace Bartlett for an exploration of vernal pools and the creatures therein. We’ll look for egg masses of pool-breeding amphibians, like wood frogs and salamanders. Wear water-proof boots and dress for the weather. Meet at Vining Lake Community Preserve at 10 am.

Trailhead Directions:

Turn west onto the Vining Lake Road off of Route 191 (16.3 miles from the intersection of Route 191 and Route 1 in East Machias, or 17.8 miles from the intersection of Route 191 and Route 1 in Baring). Continue 0.4 mile; stay left at the Y in the road to the parking lot.
