Tibbetts Island Cleanup

Mark your calendars for a volunteer cleanup with DCC and the Maine Island Trail Association!
Date: Saturday, June 26th
Time: 9am
Location: Meet at the South Addison Boat Landing
Boats will depart from South Addison in groups and head to two Islands: Tibbetts and Sheep. Volunteers need to able to climb in and out of the skiffs and walk along uneven and often slippery shorelines.
WHAT TO BRING:
-PFD
-Clothing: Even if it is sunny, it can get cool and wet on the water, so make sure to bring: Sunglasses, hat and sunscreen. Rain gear and warm, non-cotton layers for the boat ride
-Footwear: You’ll want sturdy, closed-toe footwear and plan to get your feet wet. Rubber rain/muck boots with good traction work well
-Work or rubber gloves
-Lunch and drinking water
INCLEMENT WEATHER PROCEDURE:
We can go out in rain, but may cancel for high seas, heavy wind or thick fog. We will be in touch a few days before to confirm the day based on the forecast, but conditions can change quickly.
DIRECTIONS:
U.S. Route 1, turn south onto ME-187/Indian River Road at Wild Blueberry Land. in 2 miles, turn right on Wescogus Road. Continue about 1.5 miles and turn left on East Side Road. Follow East Side Road about 6 miles and turn right onto Mooseneck Road. Continue 1.5 miles onto Narrow Roads then continue .7 miles before turning right onto Marsh Island Rd. Go .5 miles on Marsh Island Rd then turn right and follow the road to the town landing. There is a big parking lot at the landing, cars without trailers should park on the right.
