Summer Cookout and Annual Meeting
July 14, 2023 @ 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Please join DCC for a Summer Cookout and annual meeting!
Our Annual Meeting will kickoff at 3pm and include the presentation: “Maine is Weird”: Maine is unique. The state looks the way it does because of cataclysms that happened millions of years ago. Ice ages, colonial wars, lumber barons, and modern-day conservation followed, continuing to shape Maine in odd ways right up to today, by Bob Duchesne. Burgers, hot dogs, veggie options, and summer salads will be served around 4pm. Come hang out for as long as you can and learn about DCC’s latest conservation projects and community programs. Members and guests will also have the chance to meet staff and board members. All are welcome!
After a 31 year career in radio, Bob developed the Maine Birding Trail as a vehicle for promoting ecotourism in Maine. He has written a guidebook to the state, won a seat in the Maine House of Representatives, chairing the Environment and Natural Resources Committee, and later the Inland Fisheries & Wildlife Committee, and writes a weekly birding column in the Bangor Daily News.
