Signs of Spring Walk & Talk at the Pike Lands
May 12, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Join us this Saturday (May 12) for the final installment of our “Signs of Spring” walk & talk series with a group hike at the fascinating Pike Lands. 9am-12pm
Walter and Carol Muth (Maine Master Naturalists) will share their breadth of knowledge about spring flora and fauna in and around this ecologically diverse coastal conservation area. The Pike Lands is the perfect setting to observe the many remarkable changes on display this time of year!
Bring your family and friends. The hike covers about 1.5 miles on mostly level terrain and all skill levels are welcome!
Directions to the Pike Lands- Take U.S. Route 1 to ME Route 189, leading to Lubec. After 9 miles, turn left on the North Lubec Road (at McFadden’s Variety). Go 5 miles to DCC’s Pike Lands sign. Parking is available in two parking areas on either side of the road.
The weather looks great for Saturday morning, but that can be tricky to predict in Downeast Maine. Please contact the office at (270) 255-4500 and/or check our Facebook page for event cancellations and updates.
