Join us for an exploration of the historical importance of salt marshes as we walk along the Middle River Trail.  The salt marshes along the Middle River were instrumental in encouraging new settlers to come to Machias during the 18th and 19th centuries.  Find out why as we enjoy a summer’s day hike on this beautiful trail.

This walk will be led by Gail Tooker. Gail Tooker is a retired college professor of environmental studies at the State University of New York.
