On the first Friday of each month we will be offering a group hike on one of our preserves. The hikes will vary in length, duration, location, and difficulty, but all are welcome! All walks will start at 9am and could be canceled due to inclement weather. These group outings are a great opportunity to visit a new preserve and meet new people!

Join us on September 3rd for a walk at Machias River Preserve! We will walk the Money Island Trail seeing a glimpse of a regenerating forest, a babbling trout stream, and a wonderful view of Money Island in the middle of the Machias River. Then continue onto the Hemlock Trail offering an extended walk along the Machias River with new views unfolding throughout the hike. Finally we will return via the Sunrise Trail and the Money Island Trail to make a loop. The walk is be fairly easy about 2 miles in length.
