Vining Lake Open House

On Saturday, August 28th we will gather at our new Vining Lake Community Preserve to celebrate the grand opening of our newest preserve and it’s new lakeside trail.
At 10am, we’ll kick off the celebration with remarks from DCC’s Executive Director, Jon Southern. Then have activities for you explore our newest preserve:
• Join a DCC staff member to walk portions of the new trail and learn more about trail construction and design!
• Take a paddle on the lake! Karen Beeftink, a DCC Board Member and Registered Maine Guide, will be on site to help you feel comfortable out on the water.
• Join us for a Butterflies and Dragonflies Program. Naturalist Karen Holmes will be on site to talk about the many citizen science initiatives that seek volunteers and share sightings of various species of butterflies and dragonflies.
Refreshments and snacks will be provided, but guests are encouraged to bring their own picnic lunches! Save the date – more information and details to come!
