Downeast Coastal Conservancy will be partnering with Maine Island Trail Association (MITA) to remove trash and lobster traps from Browney Island. Each day will begin by everyone meeting at the Downeast Insitute parking lot around 8:45 to get loaded into MITA’s boat and head to the island at 9. Volunteers will be back to shore by 3 each day. Wednesday will be a day of cleaning trash and litter off the island while Thursday’s focus will be using MITA’s lobster trap crusher to remove lobster traps that have washed ashore.
