DCC and the Maine Tree Farm Program will host a Tree Farm Walk and Talk at Machias River Preserve on Thursday, November 14, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Forester Kyle Burdick will lead the walk through DCC’s Machias River Preserve as he inspects it for Tree Farm status. Attendees will learn about the preserve’s updated forest management plan, what a recognized Tree Farm is, and how to become one. This event is free, and three Continuing Forestry Education (CFE) credits are available for attending. As it will be outdoors, woods-appropriate shoes and clothing are recommended.
