Coastal Flood Meetup

November 16

Downeast Coastal Conservancy and Maine Coast Heritage Trust are excited to invite you to participate in a Coastal Flooding Community Science project in Machias and Lubec.

We are seeking project volunteers that will help collect data to reveal the weather and water level conditions that are associated with localized coastal flooding. The data collected will aid in understanding the unique vulnerabilities our local communities experience as sea levels rise and assist in resilience planning and emergency management.

Are you interested in joining the project? Join us for a Coastal Flood Observation Event on Saturday, November 16! Together we will make observations of coastal flooding in our community by taking photos and answering a few questions about the conditions. Time TBD. Details on meeting location will be sent to registered participants. Please register ahead of time.

To learn more about the project, visit the Gulf of Maine Research Institute’s project page.
