Ingersoll Point Preserve is an enchanting forested preserve with over one mile of shoreline. Beginning in the back of the church parking lot, this preserves starts off with a short walk through low alder bushes. Early in the morning this short entrance area is the perfect place to listen to song birds singing to the morning rays. As the you continue down the path, you soon realize you have entered into a lush green forest carpeted with moss and lichen and surrounded by tall spruce and fir trees. After walking over a few sections of bog bridging you meet a trail intersection, where the Wohoa Bay Trail breaks away from the Adler Woods Trail.
The Wohoa Bay Trails parallels to the south of the Adler Woods Trail before opening onto the beach at Wohoa Bay. You can then continue along the beach following the shoreline until the trails reconnected to either the Adler Woods Trail or the Carrying Place Cove Trail. Be sure to be on the lookout for shorebirds, eagles, and migratory birds feeding on the mudflats in search of small marine worms. If you choose the continue along the Carrying Place Cove Trail you notice the forested land along this cove is quite different than the interior trails. If your path takes you back down the Adler Woods Trail, consider the connecting trail, the Moss Trail, leading back to the Wohoa Bay Trail to enjoy a very lush moss and lichen landscape.
