SUMMARY:Annual Celebration & Summer Meeting
DESCRIPTION:DCC’s Annual Celebration & Summer Meeting is taking place at Middle River Park and the “Make Here Better” stage in Machias on Friday\, July 17th. \nThe event will begin at 3 PM with DCC’s Summer Meeting\, open to donors. This will consist of presentations about DCC’s recent work\, current happenings\, and forthcoming plans. \nAt 4 PM\, the Celebration begins! Open to the public and free. There will be food and drinks\, live music\, lawn games\, oysters\, and a marine touch tank provided by Downeast Institute\, some short dialogue about DCC’s recent and upcoming work\, and a ceremonial ribbon cutting to distinguish the launch of the “Make Here Better” stage.

DESCRIPTION:Downeast Coastal Conservancy Presents! Maine Outdoor Film Festival at the Milbridge Theatre. Saturday\, August 1st\, doors open at 6:30 PM\, films begin at 7 PM. Entry is by donation\, with a suggested donation of $10. DCC and the Milbridge Theatre will equally split entry donations. The Milbridge Theatre will sell popcorn\, snacks\, and drinks. \nDCC is thrilled to be partnering with the Milbdirge Theatre again to bring the MOFF Downeast. SUMMARY:Vining Lake Paddle
DESCRIPTION:A piece of a three-part paddle series led by each of your local Washington County land trusts. Join Woodie Wheaton Land Trust to paddle Spednic Lake on July 12\, Downeast Coastal Conservancy for a paddle and hike at Vining Lake Community Preserve on August 22\, and Downeast Lakes Land Trust at 4th lake. See the flyer for more information on each paddle. \nOn August 22\, beginning at 10 AM\, paddle the remote and scenic Vining Lake in Cooper\, part of 406 acres of land conserved by DCC and home to iconic Maine wildlife like moose and brook trout. After a lap around the lake\, we will take a hike to a marsh overlook at a granite outcrop\, then return to enjoy hot dogs and other food roasted over the fire at the Vining Lake campsite. \nDCC cannot offer any canoes\, kayaks\, or paddling gear; this is a bring-your-own-boat event. We appreciate your understanding. \nThis event is subject to cancellation due to weather. Vining Lake is a small body of flat water\, and we will not encounter rapids. \nThis event is subject to cancellation due to weather.
